campusGenAI tracks your AI model usage. To view it:

  1. Go to Settings → Usage
  2. You’ll see a breakdown by model and time period
  3. Usage is measured in tokens — the units AI models use to process text
  • 1 token ≈ 4 characters of English text
  • A typical message exchange uses 500–2,000 tokens
  • Longer documents, complex instructions, and detailed responses use more tokens

Usage information helps you understand your activity and, in some deployments, tracks against an allocated balance.

Some institutions allocate a token or usage balance per user. If your deployment uses this model:

  • Your remaining balance appears in Settings → Usage
  • Balance resets on a schedule set by your administrator
  • If you approach or exceed your balance, contact your administrator

If your balance drops to zero, the platform will show a notification and you won’t be able to send messages until your balance is refreshed — either on its scheduled reset or manually by your administrator.

Some deployments also track file storage usage alongside token balance. You can view your storage consumption in the same Settings → Usage area.

Not all models are available to all users. Your administrator controls which models are enabled for your account. If you need access to a specific model that isn’t showing in your model selector, contact your IT department.

Depending on your deployment, you may be able to adjust email or in-platform notifications for activity in shared agents or spaces.

campusGenAI uses your institution’s SSO system. You authenticate with your normal institutional credentials. Sessions expire according to your institution’s security policy — you may need to re-authenticate periodically. You cannot change your password or primary email directly in campusGenAI; manage those through your institution’s identity system.

Your interface may look slightly different depending on your institution’s deployment.
